Let me say that again.
ABSURD.
But, back to the Mountain West. Boise State is joining the party, which I've been advocating them to do for a few years now. That's going to put them in a conference that has competition, rather than whatever crap teams are even in the WAC besides Hawaii. Nevada? Psh. Now we can see what they're made of when they have to play Utah, TCU, and BYU every year. I'm excited.
Also, there's this talk about the MWC picking up Kansas, KSU, and Mizzou. While Mizzou is a bit of a stretch (they would have to become the Mountain West-of-the-Mississippi Conference...MWotM...I like it), I don't really have much of a problem with it. Those are pretty decent football teams, at least through the past few years, so it's probably just going to increase the strength of the conference.
Also, as has been pointed out to me, the Rose Bowl is completely fucked. I hope everyone's ready for Nebraska v. Texas in the f'ing ROSE BOWL every year.

Do you think the MWC gets to be one of the big "BCS conferences" now? With Boise State and potentially those others, I think it becomes at least a possibility.
Nope, there are three criteria the MWC would have to meet for a) finish of the top team in the BCS polls, b) average finish of all the teams in the BCS polls and c) number of teams in the top 25 at the end of the season. With BSU, They're fine on a and c, but the rest of the MWC is still dragging the conference down like a ton of bricks on b.
